Karl Reindler: Welcome to Mazda Tech Drive. Today we're taking a closer look at the all-electric Mazda6e and some of the features designed to make everyday driving simple, intuitive and enjoyable.

Getting Started: Keyless Entry and Drive Away

Getting started is easy. With the key on your person, enter the vehicle, select Drive and you're ready to go.

At the end of your journey, simply place the vehicle in Park, exit with the key and lock the vehicle. The Mazda6e will automatically power down, helping make the ownership experience as seamless as possible.

Using the Gear Selector

The gear selector is located on the stalk behind the steering wheel.

While pressing the brake pedal, push the selector down to engage Drive or up to select Reverse. To place the vehicle in Park, press the button located at the end of the stalk.

Mazda 6e Driving Modes: Normal, Sport and Individual

The Mazda6e offers three dedicated driving modes: Normal, Sport and Individual.

Each mode adjusts various vehicle characteristics to suit different driving preferences and conditions. Depending on the selected mode, settings such as power delivery, regenerative braking intensity and steering assistance can be tailored to create a different driving experience.

Drivers can change driving modes in several ways.

Modes can be selected directly from the widget on the central display, using the quick-access button on the steering wheel, or through the vehicle settings menu.

For those who prefer a more personalised setup, Individual Mode allows the driver to customise key vehicle settings, including power delivery, steering assistance and regenerative braking behaviour.

How Regenerative Braking Works

One of the key technologies in the Mazda6e is regenerative braking.

Regenerative braking allows the electric motor to act as a generator during braking or deceleration. Instead of wasting energy as heat, the system captures kinetic energy and converts it into electricity, which is then stored in the battery for later use.

This process helps improve overall efficiency while contributing to the vehicle's electric driving range.
